Planning Your Wine Tour

How many wineries can we visit during our tour?
We recommend visiting three wineries in a day. This allows plenty of time to enjoy each tasting, take in the beautiful surroundings, and appreciate the wines without feeling rushed.

While we love a full day of exploring, we’ve found that three thoughtfully selected stops make for the most enjoyable experience. For longer tours, we can also incorporate a leisurely lunch or another Wine Country experience.

Do we need reservations at the wineries?
With a wine tour experience, reservations are required in advance. Most Willamette Valley wineries operate by appointment, allowing them to provide a more personal and relaxed tasting experience.

There are still some wonderful wineries that welcome walk-in guests, if possible we are happy to be flexible during your day out.

As part of your reservation, our concierge service is included. Our team will recommend wineries, coordinate tasting appointments, and help create an itinerary that makes the most of your day.

Can we create our own itinerary?
Absolutely!

If you’ve already made your own reservations, we’ll gladly review your itinerary to ensure the route and timing work well together.

How long are your tours?
Our tours are designed to give you the flexibility to explore Wine Country at your own pace.

A 3-hour minimum applies to pickups within Yamhill County, while a 5-hour minimum applies to pickups outside Yamhill County.

Most guests choose a tour lasting approximately 6–8 hours, allowing time for three winery visits, a lunch stop, and travel between destinations.

Where do you offer pickup and drop-off services?
We offer convenient pickup and drop-off services throughout Oregon Wine Country, subject to availability.

Pinot Car is based in McMinnville, Oregon, with our vehicles operating from the Dundee area. A $50 fuel surcharge applies to pickups located more than 50 miles from Dundee, Oregon.

At this time, we can offer pickups and drop-offs in Portland up to eleven (11) guests.

Please share your pickup location when booking so our team can confirm availability and any applicable charges.

What time do wineries typically open and close?
Most Willamette Valley wineries welcome guests between approximately 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM, although hours vary by winery, season, and day of the week.

Some offer earlier tastings or extended evening experiences.

Our concierge team will help you plan your itinerary around each winery’s available tasting times.

Food, Wine & Your Experience

Can we drink alcohol in the vehicle?
While we want you to enjoy every moment of your Wine Country adventure, open containers of alcohol and alcohol consumption are not permitted inside Pinot Car vehicles, in accordance with Oregon State transportation and safety policies.

We are, however, happy to accommodate other beverages, including coffee, water, soft drinks, and other non-alcoholic beverages and snacks to enjoy along the way!

Please note that if this policy is violated, your driver will end the tour immediately without a refund.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us provide a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for everyone!

Can Pinot Car ship wine purchases to our home?
Yes! If you discover a wine you love, our team may be able to help coordinate shipping to your home.

We always recommend checking with the winery about its direct shipping options, as wineries are the most equipped to package and ship wine purchases.
