Greetings from Wine Country!
We’ve made it through the holidays and are looking forward to the new year with plenty to explore and experience in Oregon Wine Country.
Did you know the combination of our cool, rainy weather and dark woods provides the perfect environment for that most elusive and expensive culinary treasure – the truffle?!
Yes, that rare little fungus, worth its weight in gold, lays buried beneath the massive oaks of our Willamette Valley forests, waiting for a dedicated hunter and his loyal dog to unearth.
Happily, this February sees the return of Oregon Truffle Festival – a month-long celebration of all things truffle! Here are ways to partake in the festivities:
Winter Truffle Feast – kicking off the month early Saturday, January 21st at Knudsen Vineyards
Bryn Mawr Vineyard Truffle Hunt & Wine and Food Pairing – January 21st, enjoy a private truffle hunt followed by a 4-course wine and food pairing.
Truffles & Bubbles Dinner – Friday, February 3rd at Domaine Willamette
Truffle Feast in the Chehalem Mountains – Saturday, February 4th at Adelsheim Vineyards
Truffle Foray – Sunday, January 22nd at Knudsen Vineyards
The Joriad™ North American Truffle Dog Championship – Saturday, January 28th at Lane Events Center Large Animal Arena, Eugene
Truffle Farming A – Z – Thursday, February 16th at Oregon State University LaSells Stewart Center, Corvallis
